good hob protien skimmer

what wiould be a good HOB protien skimmer for a 30 gal hex. i was thinking the CPR BAK PAC 2. any thoughts

I like the reef octopus HOB, but any skimmer for a tank of your size would be fine. Matter of fact weekly water changes would more then likely work just as good.

The Bak Pak was a fav of mine on my 20 and 37g tank. Of course, before thaat I only used a Skilter. No comparison.

Reef Octopus FTW. Best piece of equipment on my 55G by far. I have the HOB 100HB model. I think it's 100hb.. might be a little different but basically it was the cheapest model they had. But it still worked wonders.

I got my CPR bak pak 2 today in the mail. I was thinking about placing my heater in the skimmer so it would be one less thing in the tank. I'll post a review on it when I get it up and running tomorrow.

I can take out the blue BioBale and place my heater there. Its some kind of biological filtration. Would it be a good idea to take it out, or leave it in the tank ??

Would be in a 38 gallon tank
