Nice thing about a sump is that leaks between chambers really don't matter. I've had to (well not had to but did anyway) spot seal mine several times over the years.

You'll see pieces of stuff appear to be stuck in the silicon bead that won't come out when you clean/gravel vac it. Closer inspection showed gaps in the bead itself
