Greetings,

So about 1.5 months ago I started a ten gallon tank of Serpae Tetras. For the first month while the tank cycled I did not clean the gravel, because i wanted to grow bacteria. Now I think I need to buy a gravel vac for the tank. My substrate is a large natural looking gravel from Petco. Any suggestions? I am looking for something inexpensive.

Thanks!

If you've only got one tank, a medium-sized gravel vac will do just fine. I have one with a one-way valve that allows you to start the siphon more easily. I think I paid around $10 for it.

If you've got multiple tanks or larger tanks, invest in a python. They save a lot of time, effort, and mess.
