How do you gravel vac in sand?? Wouldn't the sand get sucked up and out also??

well sand is a very dense substance most stuff wont get in the sand it will settle on the top. A nything in the sand your clean up crew should take care of. Come to think of it I dont think to many SW people gravel vac to much since the sand and rock and clean up crew all take care of it all.

with sand, you only lightly vac the top..you don't go down into the sand, or you'll suck it right out.

when i vaccuum my sand which is mostly course but partly fine I tie a not in the tubing of the vacuum to decrease the power of the vacuum. I still get a small amount of sand that gets removed but is not very noticable unless your sand bed is very thin. Hope this helps.
