I continue to have a problem with green water and have tried almost everything. Water changes seem to actually stimulate the growth of the algae, and cutting the light does not work. Diatom filters are somewhat effective, but are messy and a nuisance to use. I have been told that UV sterilizers will clear green water. Anyone have any experience with the UV items? Will they eliminate the pesky algae?

uv will work. you can also get rid of it other ways like you would have to leave the light of for at least 2 weeks and do daily pwcs witch is a lot of work. i hade that problem for a while on my fw tank.
