I have a 55 pre-drilled tank for the overflow. It gurgles all the time. Anyway of suppressing or eliminating this problem?

When I bought my tank it came with a durso standpipe? Any other tricks or solutions?

I had the same problem with one I built. I found out that the holes in the top cap are critical to reducing the noise. Mine made huge bubbles every few seconds, but I made the holes slightly larger and the noise stopped.

This site has some good info:

Durso Standpipes

I made the hole bigger, no real difference. Then i saw that adding a air tube would help. So i added a 9 inch tube. Placed tube in hole about 2 inches and that took care of it. Can't believe what a difference it makes. Can hardly hear tank. Now I just hear pumps... Thanks for the advise...
