so, i have been doing a little research on the Magnum canister filters. It was recomened that this type of filter might be best for me on my Goldfish/turtle 50 gallon.
I can't decide which one....
Should I get the HOT Magnum 250 Pro System or the HOT Magnum 250?
any thoughts??

The HOT Magnum Pro can be bought for a great price at www.drsfostersmith.com. It was $30 less for the Pro there than any fish store in town for just the HOT Magnum. 8O

The BioWheel isn't recommended for a heavily planted tank but the one in my Eclipse 12 works great. :)

iv never used magnum filters, im a hagen fan, so since you have gold fish(messy) and a turtle(really messy) i would go with a fluval 304 or 404 canister and a aqua clear 300 or 500 the best would be a mix of fluval 404 and aqua clear 300 imo

thanx for the link madame_x. I will have to check it out. I don't have any live plants in my tank, so I won't have to worry about that with the bio wheel. :)
Any plant I stick in there, the turtle rips out.
