I have a 125g tank with a 55g sump. The sump is gonna be fed with 1 1/4" PVC from the overflow and returned via the same. The return pump is located in the center chamber of the sump with a refugium on one side and the LR rubble and skimmer in the other.

Question is...

...what would be the better heater setup and what size to use?

1) Heater on both side chambers of the fuge to keep them out of the DT (isn't that what a sump is for?).

2) Setup above plus one in the DT.

3) One in the return chamber of the sump and either one or two in the DT.

I prefer multiple heaters in case on fails but not too much overkill in case one sticks on.

What say you?
