Hi. I am new to this board and new to the hobby.

I am setting up a tank and I wnat a compact flourescent setup. My question is -

my tank is 36x12x16

I want to use a fixture for a 36" or 30"

I was going to get a 36" but it says it measures 36 and 3/4 "

WILL THIS FIT????

Thanks so much guys - Tom

Depending on the lighting fixture they'll have different mounts, but the advertised 36" fixtures is what you want for a 36" tank. The bulbs don't reach all the way to the extra 3/4" in the measurements, this is overhead room for the bulb connections.

I'd stay away from the jebo/odyssea's, but that's just what i've found from doing my research, I've never actually owned one. The other brands you mentioned all come with high recommendations, and I don't think you'd have any issues with any of those others.

i am looking at a 36 inch single sattelite compact flourescent rated at 95 watts. it is by current. comes with a lunar light.

would this be enough light to grow anenomes in 16inches deep of water?

What size tank do you have? That'll help determine. But, I can't speak to growing SW corals, I'm a freshie (for now at least).

I would not attempt an anemone with that lighting.
