Help with used skimmer!!

Ok so I bought a uses 150gl tank w/sump & skimmer..... I haven't the slightest clue how to set the skimmer up! It's a precision marine bullet 2. I believer this can be run in or out of the sump, what are the benefits to both? Hoping someone will have one set up that can post some pics for me to see.

I believe you attach a pump via a hose to the small nozzle, and adjust the height of the bubbles by turning the gate valve.
