HOB filter question

When I put the filter floss in my media basket, should I put it right before the water comes back into the aquarium or just stuff it in the bottom of the basket? Will it have different effects depending on where I put it?

Filter floss is to trap large particles. It needs to be first in line. You don't want large particles entering your AC or other media.
