HOB fiter

Has anyone used the API Superclean Power Filter? I've been looking to get a HOB filter for my panted 5 gallon, but I'm not sure which would be best. Aquaclear filters can be a bit pricey sometimes and Quietflow filters seem almost too bulky and not visually appealing. Does anyone have any HOB filters they recommend? I have a tetra PF10 10 gal filter on a 10 gallon tank. it is quiet and low maintenance. can usually go 2 months on a filter pad. I like it's simplicity and it fits together nicely.

I also have an aqueon 30 and an aquaclear 50 on a 29 gallon.
don't like the aqueon as it always has that waterfall sound. the aquaclear is great because you really don't need new filters and it is customizable. I think the less filter replacements make the initial higher cost worth. it does rattle a bit so I have the cover off mine. it gets gummed up once a year, but it's easy to take it apart and clean it. .
