HOB fuge question....

I hear a lot of people who have fuges under their tanks keep the lighting on 24/7 and some who keep them on alternate to the day/actinic lights. Which do you recommend and why?
Also, I was thinking about getting a hob fuge. Anyone know a good site and good brand? Is a hob fuge good enough for a 90 gal, or should I just go for a bigger one under the tank. I don't really want to change any of the plumbing, thats why I opted for the hob one. TIA!

I was considering a HOB fuge to go in my sump, but have decided against it now, in favor of build my own out of a rubbermaid tub or maybe a bucket of some sort. Going the simple, effective route as well. A powerhead in the sump will bring water into the fuge, will let gravity do the rest, placing 2 bulkheads to return the water back to the sump.

I have not finalized my plans, but I decided I could get more space out a DIY fuge that I could on a 12" or 18" HOB fuge. I don't think they are a bad idea at all, just not what I wanted in the end.

Do you have a sump already? If so, have you considered a DIY type setup or do you want the simplicity of a HOB unit?

I'll let someone more experienced answer the ligthing question, but I plan to run my fuge lights opposite of my tank lights.
