Hood Question

I'm looking a buying some new hoods for my 55 gallon tank and have a question about the sizes, are the advertised sizes the actual size or are the shorter then that?

My openings are just under 23 1/2 inches so would a 24 inch hood fit or will it actually measure to 24 inches?

What type of hood are you trying to buy

Was looking at these from petsmart

Aqueon® Fluorescent Deluxe Full Hood - Lighting & Hoods - Fish - PetSmart

But like I said the 24 inch if it is actually that size will be too big

It will fit I bought the exact same ones for my 55 gal so you should be fine
