Hello all,

I am moving very far away in a couple of months, and have decided to start preparing my tank for the move now, so I don't have to do it last minute.

I've given away the fish to a happy new fish home, with experienced fish owners, and I've emptied the tank of water, and rinsed and emptied the filter.

My question is - how do I get that pesky algae off the sides of the tank? And when do I take out the substrate? I plan on setting up the tank with all new fish when I move, so I want to make sure its in as good of condition as possible when the movers come and pack it up and ship it.

Its a 75 gallon tank, btw. Currently has small river rock substrate, which I will also have to take out and dry. I'm mostly just concerned with getting it as clean as possible so that when I've moved, all I have to do is add water and re-cycle the tank for new fishy friends.

Thank you.
