Anyone got any tricks on how to get rid of calcium deposits on hoods? Just got a used 55 gal, and these are the hoods.

Wet magic eraser (or generic) and /
or soften with some vinegar and scrub with the baking soda - lots of fun too.

Or also can use some denture cleaning tablets you can get them at the dollar store, lay them on the spots in the tub maybe

Razor blade skillfully applied if all else fails lol.

My quick easy solution - 2x4 scraps laid on floor, cover with sheet of plastic, pushing plastic down to form a basin, pour in straight vinegar deep enough to cover whatever you are cleaning. Walk away for a while, how long depends on how bad mineral deposit thickness is. Come back, wipe of. Resoak if needed. The beauty of this is each side is adjustable because 2x4s aren't attached to each other and you can adjust size of your basin to accommodate anything smaller than your wood. That makes it very easy to soak an entire hood in just a couple cups of vinegar. Don't forget to rinse thoroughly when you are done.
