Hello,
I was recently given a 48" 4x54w T5HO 2x250w HQI fixture with moonlight LEDS. I am setting up a 55 gallon reef tank. I would like to use the metal halides but I think they are too much. I would like to make the fixture a 2x150w HQI. I know I would have to change the ballasts but will I be able to find 150w metal halide bulbs to fit? I am not to familiar with HQI.
If not I was thinking about using one 250 HQI and growing light loving corals and such on that side. I would do a 50/50 mix with the T5s.
Any opinions?

The bulbs are different sizes. You would have to change both the ballast and bulb socket.
