Hydor Performer 400-500 Protein Skimmers

Has anyone used the Hydor Performer 400-500 Protein Skimmers. I hear real good things about them. I would like to go plus one on my skimmer so I looked around. I found some I like, but would not fit into the area of my sump, before it goes through my wet/dry. one of these were the swc cone skimmer. The foot was to big This hydor skimmer can sit outside of the sump. And it would be a plus one for the size of my tank. Just would like to see what some people think of it before I spend $400Hydor Performer Protein Skimmers

Hydor 450 skimmer

weird i was googling instruction manual for my new 500 and this popped up. I have a 450 I used for six months broke the motor mount and hydor is sending me a new one, i will sell it to you for $300 shipped brand new in box. They work Great!!!!

I already got me one. Paid $269, brand new. I love it!

I went with the hydor 405 skimmer it was cheaper, just about the same as the 400/500. Works just as good! I also got it on sale!!!
