Inline container for Purigen

Hello All,

I'm considering starting using Purigen in my 46 gallon tank. I have an Eheim canister filter, but I prefer not to put he purigen in there because I would like to be able to keep an eye on it without having to open the canister. Does anybody know of a little container that I could splice into the exit hose from the canister filter. This is how my UV filter is setup, which honestly I can't tell if it does anything.

will this work

I had an idea. Do you think it would work to use a section of large clear tubing, with reducers on each end to connect to the existing exit flow?
