I've recently become interested in internal filters but don't really know much about them at all. What's the benefit of having on versus having an external or hob filter?

They are a lot more hassle to clean, less flow, less filtration, less media and take up room inside the tank. So i honestly don't think there is a benefit of internal over a canister or HOB

I like EHEIM canister filters. I heard that Rena and Fluval are good, but I have two Eheim 2215(classic 350) that I can definitely vouch for to be good filters.
