Internal Filtration vs external

Hi all, I have a juwel trigon 350 tank and am currently running he standard internal filter plus a fluval 205 external... I've just been given a fluval 105 and was considering removing the internal - to free up quite a large space in the tank and run it on the 205 and 105..... Would this keep the tank as clean if I did this?!
