im going to be buying a 135gal tank going to be a planted discus comunity tank and am wondering in a fluval fx5 would be overkill for filtration? also what heater would i need for a tank that size?

I personally don't think it would be, I have mine on a 75 community tank. I don't use heathers in my tank but from what I've read you may want to use two. They recommend this as a back up protection.

Not even close to overkill. I have two 405s on my 75 and would have gotten the FX5 if I didn't already have them available to use.
