No I figured it out when it does that it takes like a minute to build itself back up. 40 dollar skimmer seriously works awsome.

If you are allowing the water level of your tank to fluctuate much it will effect your skimming ability.

Yea I'm going to get a piece of plexy glass and put it on top and just put my light on top of it
