Is scratch in new 20 gallon a threat?

I have a 20 gallon aquarium and today when I was cleaning it I noticed a 4 inch scratch going down the glass. Im not sure what caused it, but its not deep at all and its only on the outside of the glass. I was wondering if this is a threat to the tank? Could the scratch get deeper over time?

if it is a plexiglass tank it is meaningless if glass and it is a very shallow scratch, I would not worry unless it is near the edge of the glass , it will weaken the glass slightly but should be fine
