Hard to know for sure without a review. But usually, you get what you pay for.

Why is there a HUGE gap in prices on protein skimmers online? Most of the ones on ebay are selling for around $50. Few that are actuall owners are reselling theirs for a minimum $150. Why aren't there any $75-$125 skimmers? I think all the skimmers in my LFS's are around $175 or so.

Looks like a hunk of crap from China to me... Best bet is to go with a CPR Aquatics or a Reef Octopus skimmer.

Do not buy. Aquarium Products is the manufacturer. It is a piece of junk. I bought a Reef Octopus NW-150 form saltysupply.com and it kicked butt right out of the box, $189 shipped. It's a beast.

But it says its like a filter too... I have a big *** sump will this even do me any good?

The CPR is made to hang on the back of your tank. It's not made to be used in a sump.

I highly suggest Reef Octopus. You get every dime of what you pay for.
