Also I'm a newbie... but i'm getting interested in sumps so I would like to understand them a little more.
Is this an actual sump? Is this all that would be needed for filtration and how exactly ( in newbie to sumps terms ) does it work??
Thought that looked like a good deal but then again i'm just learning about sumps.

If you look closely, that price is for the prefilter only, which is probably a little piece of foam with a hole in it. Those only need replacement when they're literally falling apart. The pic could lead you to believe you're getting the whole shooting match.
