Kalwasser Drip System.

I'm going to do a DIY Drip System by using a Gallon Carton, drilling a hole on the lower bottom and putting a small tube line. I'll seal around the tube with aquarium safe silicon. I purchased Kent Marine Kalwasser powder substance.

My question is when you get the system going, do you run the system 24/7 or only when your calcium and alkalinity are low or high?

The whole point in a drip is to run it 24/7

Its a bit harder than you say in your post

As if the small tube you have drilled blocks your tank will overflow and its very hard to get the balance from in and out water so you need a big drain

The way I have mine set up is not a RO unit but a HMA filter but it will work the same

My system puts 200 gal per day into the main tank and I have a overflow pipe drilled in the side of my sump with a 4" pipe that runs to the main drain

The only problem is the temperature drop so your heaters will be on a lot more

My 1000 gal has been setup 3 years and I haven't done one manual water change in that time but I do have big rays that turn over the substrate

Okay thank you for the information. I'll keep that in mine.
