Kent Nitrate Sponge Flow

I am going to be using the Kent Marine Nitrate Sponge in a Marina Breeder Box, I have a choice of using an air pump that would let the box flow 6 gallons per hour, or a little water pump that will let it flow about 20 gallons per hour. Does anyone use this or Sechem denitrate? They say low flow under 50Gph, but don't really say if 6 would be better than 20gph.
