I currently am using 2 18k ho bulbs on my tank...I want to build my own LED day and moonlight kit for my tank...are there any certain parameters that I need to take into consideration for the day time lights? Are the lights I am using now helping the fish at all or are they just to give them the sense of daytime?? Should I use white for day and blue for moonlight?? Thanks

When it comes to fowlr tanks lights dont matter. You are fine with lights you have. If you want LEDs, I would use whites and blues for good color. Then use just a few blues for moon.

Check out K2 moolights with moon phase controller. Cheap with cool affect.

cool thanks guys...i appreciate you taking the time to respond...

I would stick with some sort of tubes on that size tank. If you were to use LEDs you would need a lot of them to cover the tank. Too few, and you would see a spotlighting effect that wouldnt look good.
