Hey Everyone,

I am converting my 20 gallon tank into a nano reef and currently have a dual T5 HO fixture with a 10k and a blue actinic. I would like to add a LED strip to the tank possibly fit it on the fixture, if I am able to find a way. I would like to add something to bring more light to corals and help them grow.

My question:

Are there any suggestions on LED strips that would have some power to help coral growth? Any advice and suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks!
:thanks:

I have seen all of these strips in action on small tanks as the only light source for SPS and LPS . I agree that on a larger tank the diodes are underpowered but to supplement on a 20 gal I think it will do fine.

for smaller tank should consider PAR38 bulbs

I have 1 on my 10g

here is the PAR reading the one i have (plz note the tesing is in the middle of the tank, and the bulb is pointing inside the tank at an angel so it is not the max PAR reading)
at 7" below the light ( water surface):325
at 10" below the light ( 3" below water level):185
at 13" below the light ( 6" below water level):126
at 16" below the light ( 9" below water level/on the sand bed):105

It would work far better together. You would need multiple units if not supplemented by your t5ho lighting.

Here is the tank with the Finnex Ray 2 fixture as well as my T5 HOs. Looks great! Thanks Everyone for their help! :)
