I am getting new PC light bulbs for my light fixture. I have one of those fixtures that have 4 PC lights, 2 MH lights and some moon lights. Anyway, there are two metal clips that hold each PC bulb in place (8 clips total). Each clip has "heat resistant bands" around them to help secure the bulb in place. Some of the bands have broken. Could I just use rubber O rings from the hardware store to replace them or should I get the heat resistant bands? Has anyone tried this before? My primary motive is $$$. I can get 4 O rings from a hardware store for about $2.50 where as I can get them on e-bay for $4.00 + $5.00 S&H for four of them.
