What do you plan on keeping in the 55g?

ITs FW 55gal and mainly just some crypts and swords and some java moss/ferns so mostly low/medium light but i want the option to go bigger if i want the WPG rule (i know its not an exact science) would put me at 130/55 = 2.3WPG. Do you think the light is an ok brand and reliable or is it some off the wall crap?

There have been people with that brand that find that they are junk.

I would look at the Nova 2x54w T5 instead. Either one is about the same actual watts getting into the tank. On a 55G you are going to need Excel at a minimum. But for the plants you are talking about you prob want to raise the fixture off the tank a couple inches to reduce intensity also.

And you will need slight ferts.

You really should have CO2 for that kind of light
