Still looking for lighting on a planted tank, question, can "grow lights" work as aquarium lights without worrying about moisture and such?

sure... but you're looking at pretty much the same cost. check fishneedit.com for some very affordable, yet good quality, fixtures.

I just went and picked out a corallife light with two cords. 4 compact bulb total at 65 watts per. I plan on starting with just using two lights to do a low maintenance planted tank, hopefully its not too much lighting because i really don't want to do co2
