Lighting

What other kind of light can I use for corals besides metal halide

HO, VHO, LED, power compact flo..

All those can allow you to keep coral, but not necessarily any coral.

If I remember correctly, Byzantine is keeping LPS...and SPS? Either way, besides MH it is either T5HO or LEDs. And we all know which answer I lean towards at this point.

I have mh at the moment, when it's time to replace the bulb, I am seriously considering LED. I've done VHO and you are limited in what you can keep.

Ebay 120w led fixture 175-200$ just make sure to get dimmable and i like 120° lenses it covers more tank area
