What are you looking to spend? Quality LEDs are very expensive. A t5 fixture is much cheaper.

Im down with the T 5 but im afraid it will over eat the tank. Funny 20 years ago never thought about over heating. My heater has a thermostat wont it just kick on when i turn the light off?

T5 is gonna work i think

Ya I've been doing a lot of browsing in the lighting department and unless you are dead set on buying LEDs id say pass on them because by the time you get your moneys worth out of them they will have bigger better fixtures for half the cost...LED technology is still kinda in its infant stage and like with all electronics every year they drop prices drastically while improving quality so to sum it all up your probably best off sticking to t5s

And as for the temperature it shouldnt effect you really if you already need a heater to get the tank to a proper temp. Just mean less work for the heater
