Aquarium Advice Freak
hi im looking to change the hood on my 30x12 inch aquarium for a glass sliding top and im wondering what lighting options there are. I cant go for a suspended set up it will have to be clip on or free standing.
I like the look of blue LED lighting for night observation but i cant stretch to the enormous price tag at the minute. ive seen led strips and bars for cars but i dont know anything about there output or if the will be adequate if i bought a few and spread them out. does anybody know if these will light up an aquarium well enough.
also how should i go about day time lighting as i have plants but i think it will look daft having several light fittings hanging over the tank. can leds be used for plants, i currently have a plastic hood with a t8 i think its 15w and it always seems dark, althought my anubias are growing well its just not very attractive.
