Lighting for tropical fish

Hello,

What lighting is required/best for tropical fish ie uv, uvb etc? As my lights were for a turtle originally (uv & day bulb) is this adequate for tropical fish... recommendations much appreciated.
Im in the uk and the lenght of my hood bulbs are 59cm.
Thanks
Kelli

IMO lighting for a non planted FW system is for viewing the fish. A lamp designed for aquariums will highlight the colors on the fish. Good luck!

FW = fresh water. If you have plants you'll want a full spectrum lamp.
