Lighting question

Have a 30" Aqueon dual T5. If one lamp goes bad, should they both go out or do I actually have two bad lamps?

If one burns out, the other one should stay lit. You might have a bad ballast.

Got it fixed and actually when one lamp goes bad the other won't come on.

Thats odd. i just replaced a ballast yesterday in my triple tube. All the bulbs were out at once, but I have had one burn out and the others stayed on. Mine are pretty old, maybe they are built differently now.
