ok.. i am still learning with lighting so please bear with me and hopefully answer this question.
i have a few questions regarding lighting --
first question - I have a freshwater 55 gal
tank and I want my fish to look the best they possibly can (color wise), have them be happy about th elight (natural lighting) and be able to still have plants. -- which bulbs should I look into, 50 / 50 (i have mostly cichlids in this tank blue johannis and electric yellows) or just a straight daylight bulb?
second question - is it possible for a 50/50 bulb to give the water a yellowish tint ? i am pretty sure there is not an algae bloom of any sort because I can't see it with any other light source (my other light fixtures that used to be on the tank, or with anything else) I did a water change to investigate the water to make sure and still nothing -- i thought the 5000k caused a yellowish tint but this is a 10000k bulb...
