Any soldering required when this happens? Or just basic wire connectors?

Basic wire connections. Some zip ties and/or double sided tape holds the driver. 120 watt fixture usually uses 3 of them. Dimmable fixture may be different number of drivers.

How many of you have the Taotronics or Reefbreeds led light fixtures inside the canopies?
Do you have extra fans inside the canopy for heat issues?

I have 3 Taos inside my canopy with 3 fans. But never turn them on.. If I do my water temp drops drastically . I have no heat issues otherwise

I have 2 reefbreeders inside a canopy. The built in fans on the fixtures run when the lights are at higher intensities but I've never had an issue with heat buildup in the canopy or my tank and the air coming out of the fixtures when the fans run is quite cool.

LEDs generate a tiny fraction of the waste heat put off by other fixtures like MH and even T5.

So does this mean additional fans are needed or not needed inside a canopy?
When using these led light fixtures?

I would think no, unless you are right on the edge with keeping your tank temps down it shouldn't require any fans. With regard the lights staying cool, my reefbreeders stay very cool with the built in fans and I only have 2 4"x4" openings in the top of the canopy to vent them.

Ok thanks. I got in on the group buy for the Reef Breeder led fixtures just wish the payment deadline would have been for 9-18 then I could have ordered 3 but I was only able to order 1 but will order the others on my upcoming payday.

This is what my canopy looks like so I hope it will be good with no fans. This was a used canopy that I picked up and striped and re-stained it. The three large openings are where the doors will be put back on.
