I've had the Chinese 120 dimmables for a few months. So far I've had the driver go out on 1 and now it sounds like a fan is going out in a different one. The company did send me a new driver really fast. But keep in mind that they are made from very cheap parts. Has anyone else experienced these issues

I'm trying to track exactly that:
Taotronics and other Chinese LED panel reliability question

I've seen reports of dead drivers, LEDs dying, rust, and fire...

My concern with these, especially what appears to be the not-so-reliable newer ones (vs the ones that have been in service for 2-3+ years), is that over time, replacement costs (or costs of shipping to/from the manufacturer for repair) will become higher than the cost of more expensive lighting rigs. I suppose, in the end, you get what you pay for.

If I had it to do over I would have went with a better product. They have a 1 year warranty but when parts start going bad after that these lights will end up being a money pit.

I think I'm going to go with a BuildMyLED setup. With a dimmer controller, it comes to a hair north of $200, but if I had to ship a chinese panel back to who-knows-where for repair at $50+ (which appears to be the standard shipping rates for these brutes), I've already hit that mark.

The parts are easy to replace. Most are just simple connectors. The issue would be getting replacement parts after the warranty is up. It is probably just happening with the newer ones since they are in such high demand right now

Amazing. I don't know anyone who's had trouble with their units.

I must just have bad luck 1 is a Tao and the other is a knock off. The knock off's driver went out 2 weeks after I got it and now the Tao sounds like the center fan is going out. I have a 3rd one I got a little over a month ago also. No problems with it yet
