Lights During cycling

Do the flourescent lights in my FO need to be left on at least x hours per day during cycling to help the bacteria establish? Or can I just save the bulbs life for later?

What kind of lighting do you have? PC, NO, or MH?

Regular lighting, whatever came with the hood, I know it's 40 watts. I'd venture it's NO.

no the bacteria doesn't need lighting. You could run it 6 hours a day if you like, just to start establishing a photo period for the live rock.
