loc-line plumbing question

What type glue do you use to connect loc-line plumbing to standard [acronym:06666bbfa7="Plastic pipe"]pvc[/acronym:06666bbfa7]? [acronym:06666bbfa7="Plastic pipe"]pvc[/acronym:06666bbfa7] glue does not hold it good.

I have used the threaded loc line end with a threaded [acronym:cc73b2ea34="Plastic pipe"]PVC[/acronym:cc73b2ea34] end. Never glued on though.

Loc line is used on returns on closed loops etc to direct the current where you want it.

Come on now. Someone out there knows what kind of glue to use on loc-line. I have the 3/4 [acronym:1f7c60c5e6="Plastic pipe"]pvc[/acronym:1f7c60c5e6] to 3/4 "y" adaptors. I purchased from marinedepot.com They do not offer it threaded or I would have gotten it. The person I spoke to before I ordered said it just glues like standard [acronym:1f7c60c5e6="Plastic pipe"]pvc[/acronym:1f7c60c5e6], but it does not hold well. I called them back and I was told that was beyond their "expertise" go to a hardware store.

I think there are different types of locline. I bought some locline at the [acronym:1f900492f1="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:1f900492f1] to go with my locline(off brand?) I got with my AGA overflow kit and the do not fit. The fittings are real loose.

I know this probably does not help you but might be part of the problem?

I helped install a sprinkler system many, many years ago using [acronym:5af7310709="Plastic pipe"]PVC[/acronym:5af7310709]. I think that we used a primer before the glue. Did you try that? Also I think that there was a white "tape" that we used sometimes to wrap around the pipe before sticking them together, but maybe that was just where it was threaded?

Have you talked to the people at Home Depot or Lowes to see if they can help?

You use plumber's tape only if the connections are threaded.

You can use rubber cement to lock your lines together. Apply to both ends -- put ends together - wipe away any excess - and let sit for about two hours to make sure the hold is secure.

Well I finally got someone on the phone at the loc-line headquarters. They said there is not glue that will hold loc-line securely it is "non-glueable" but for a small price I can purchase abaptors that will thread on the [acronym:443ba55063="Plastic pipe"]PVC[/acronym:443ba55063] and attach to my "Y's". Looks like marinedepot.com gave me bad information.

they can sell you them, or you can take your locklines (ball sockets) and go to Lowes and get a threaded T for your needs.
