Its not for plant growth. I like the blue look and glow it outs on the fish and making the rocks "pop" in the black background. I have another t8 fixture i could put my other light in and rotate if i wanted to.

Looking for aquarium hood. Where to start?

Ok, that's fine. It was just FIY. You're the one looking at the tank, so what you like is important.

As a planted tank person, a lot of people don't know about Actinic lights, so I point it out. 👍

Switch the impeller and maybe assembly and it will be quiet. Dr fosters sells parts cheap. Check to see if the assembly is in tact,

Haha i thought mbuna destroy live plants and idk if you can grow them in PFS substrate.

Some people have luck with Anubias in African Tanks. Esp if they feed veggies and greens.

Almost all my tanks have sand. Many planted tanks use it. Much better than gravel

Why not build a small canopy to enclose the light and any other accessories? You could make a hinged front access door for feeding.
