Mag Pumps? Maintenance??

I am in the process of purchasing a MAG pump and was wondering under the low maintenance what does that actually mean? What is the maintenance needed? Thanks

Every few months you can take it apart and rinse off the impeller and wipe the impeller housing out. Thats not required but will make the pump perform at peek effectivness. If you have a foam prefilter every few weeks remove it and rinse it out real well.

I am trying to use it for a closed manifold system and I thought I was supposed to use teflon to seal it water tight. I guess that as I take it apart I will have to somehow make it so it can be taken apart and the water stopped from leaking out as I open it?

use a couple of unions
got em on mine
so i can clean out the pump(well not now, pump impeller is broke)
