Marineland bio wheel 200 vs Aquaclear 50

A couple months ago I changed one of the filters on my 29 gallon from a Marinland bio wheel to the aquaclear. Ever since the water has not been as clear as it use to be and I've been having some problems with waste. I like the Aquaclear because it's silent and supplies a bit more biological filtration but to be honest I prefer a good looking tank more than anything. Opinions?
