hey i got a mh off another gal for free is there any good way to judge how old the bulb is ??? cause i have no idea its a 150 10k and still lights the tank up nicley. so any easy way to check or best just to start with a new bulb?

There really isnt a good way to tell if the bulb is 1 month or 10 months old. after about a year the intensity begins to go as well as the color spectirum. Bulbs themselsves are faily cheap compaired to the ballast and socket, etc. I would just pickup a new 150W bulb.

Chances are it's still good for atleast a few months. Personally I would fork out the 50-60 bucks for a new one.
