Hello, I currently have a 75 gallon reef tank setup. I have been looking for a Metal Halide/PC Hood. Does anyone have any suggestions. I am going to be keeping various clams and corals. I am in between buying one of the following below: If anyone has time to help me choose a light that would be most appreciated. Would it be more beneficial to buy a MH/PC or MH/VHO Hood?

From Captive Reefs 2 -250 watt 10K Metal Halide bulbs 2-110 watt VHO actincs, 2 - 4" fans

The Hamilton hoods probably offer the best bang for the buck. The coralifes are nice with the moonlights though but the 150 HQI bulbs are not that great for SPS or clams.I think the VHO actinics look better then the PC's But coralife has the best PC actinic on the market I sell them both and have very little problems with either one. Don't forget to take 6% off the price for being a AA member.

I own the Coralife 48" Aqualight and am selling it. I really like the light but am changing from a reef tank to a FOWLR and do not need the extra light. If you are interested, let me know. I have the fixture listed in the Classifieds section. The lights have been used for 3 months.

Thanks so much for all of your replies. I dont know how much truth there is to this but I was just speaking with my friend and he said that ballats that coralife uses do not put out the wattage they claim to put out.
