hey everyone i woke up today to find out that my mh bulb burnt out so im in need of a new one. currenty i was running the powerpaq 150w 14000k mh lamp and was wanting it a little more blue. would switching to the 20000k bulbs help me out? my tank is a 24 aquapod with various soft and hard corals if that matters

Are you sure it's the bulb? How old was it? MH bulbs last for years, although the color spectrum does shift and it starts losing PAR after about 1 yr. I've been using MH's for 20 yrs and never had a bulb actually burn out but I do change them every 18 months.
And yes, a 20k bulb will be more blue, but will also have less PAR than a 14k.

Ya man it def was blown I couldn't believe it. I just went to the lfs and picked up the 20k. I'm pretty cool with an employee there so he is gunna let me test out the bulb if I don't like it he would swap it out for me. Thanks for the advice
