Mounting a mini reactor

I have an aqueon stand for my tank, and the BRS mini-reactor is in the sump. I'd like to lift it out of the sump, and mount it to the inside of the stand. Is it OK to drill two small holes for screws to mount to the stand? I don't want to compromise the structure of the stand, for obvious reasons.

I would think it is safe to drill holes.
All weight goes to corners.
You could also just place a board in the stand and mount reactor to it...
May make removing reactor easier....

Actually, that is exactly what I'm going to do, for that very reason.
